Nashville and New York Wedding Photographer
Colleen and Jules. Gosh I just love these two. I flew up to DC/Baltimore for a few days last month to photograph several rapid-fire sessions for our couples who live in the area, and these two were the first up on the list! But when they saw some crazy winds and freezing cold temperatures in the forecast for their outdoor Baltimore engagement session, Colleen and Jules did what they do best: they found a place that totally fit their style and personality (a place where they already have some beautiful memories) and set up an indoor shoot there. We don’t often shoot couple portraits inside, but I was SO excited with how these turned out. They feel so intimate, warm, and moody… Colleen + Jules are so sweet together, AND they picked an amazing space for their session.
The interior of Ivy Hotel is to die for. Bold patterns, beautiful colors, moody light, and stunning decor make the space feel so unique. For a stylish couple like Colleen and Jules, this was the perfect spot for their session, and I’m SO glad they knew about it! They snuggled by the fire, giggled, danced, and even snuck out onto the patio for a few pictures in the cold… In the end, this session ended up feeling so classic, so chic, and so “them.” We chatted and shot for a few hours, and they seriously could not be kinder. They were up for anything (which I super appreciate!), and it really just felt like I was hanging out with old friends. It was so nice to just enjoy an afternoon together at The Ivy – I sort of forgot I was even working!
You may not see too many pictures of Colleen + Jules’ wedding because they’re hosting it this Christmas at a gorgeous private club in the Upper East Side that doesn’t allow pictures to be published online… but rest assured it will be a chic, uber-classic day with LOTS of black and white images of candle-lit, Christmassy sweetness. I can’t wait to see these two all dressed up again + celebrating each other.
